00:00 - 01:20 // I went to Israel, where I heard a muezzin calling.
at the Jaffa port. kids were playing. cars and motorcycles were passing and there were people talking and walking.
01:20 - 04:24 // then there was a big machine outside of a luxury hotel humming a minor chord with its mechanical belly and just droning out into the open, droning hard against the waves of the sea that came noising up from the beach. the only beach in tel aviv, where dogs are allowed. i heard birds. and a bell was ringing twice.
04:24 - 05:17 // there was a little band playing at the port, just soundchecking with a song that reminded of george brassens' „les copains d'abord“.
05:17 - 08:04 // so I jumped into the water and listened to the sounds of the jaffa port from deep down. as I slowly came up again there was a boat in front of me with an old hippie on it, who listened to the radio. a lady sang a mellow schlager-tune. I didnt understand a word but it sounded sweet.
08:04 - 08:10 // a man sneezed. a lady laughed. a man coughed.
Side B:
00:00 - 03:15 // So I was listening to the wind in the pennants above my head. radiosignals interferred. cars honked and a kid cried. then the waves hit the beach and I was trying to count the beat to the rhythm of the water. in the distance I could make out the heavy drone of a plane.
03:15 - 05:48 // suddenly I was in the water again and outside on the street a bar-miz wa or some other ritual passed by. I put my head deep into the sand and listened to the water dripping off of the grains of sand. somebody sneezed.
05:48 - 06:16 // I went out of the water and found myself in the old city of Jerusalem. birds were whistling. salesmen were hustling. some guy complained that he was talking with a wall and repeated it.
06:16 - 08:58 // a man coughed and I stood at the Wailing Wall. some people prayed and some took pictures. birds were singing. I spread my wings and flew back to the port of Jaffa, where I heard a muezzin calling.
